\"Carding<\/a><\/p>\n

A carding attempt occurred when fraudsters use a list of the stolen credit cards and try to verify them by performing purchase transactions. As a result, you may noticed abnormal growth in sales in a day or two, which would cause you lots of troubles and chargeback losses if this went unnoticed and not properly handled.<\/p>\n

With FraudLabs Pro validation rules, this malicious carding attempts can be reduced by using the velocity and the blacklist validation (based on our crowd-sourced blacklisted records). Below are the steps to create the rules:<\/p>\n

  1. Login to the FraudLabs Pro Merchant Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Click on the Rules<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n
  3. Click on the Add Rule<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n
  4. In the Rule<\/strong> dropdown box, select Total Transactions By Email Within The Last 24 Hours Greater than [Custom Value]<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  5. Then, Enter the value in the Value<\/strong> field. Note: You may set the value to 2, but this will also depend on the nature of your business.<\/li>\n
  6. Select the Manual<\/strong> Review<\/strong> action.\"Total<\/li>\n
  7. Click on the Add Rule<\/strong> button to add another rule.<\/li>\n
  8. In the Rule<\/strong> dropdown box, select Total Transactions By IP Address Within The Last 24 Hours Greater than [Custom Value]<\/strong>. (In this example, we will be performing the amount velocity check).<\/li>\n
  9. Enter the threshold value in the Value<\/strong> field. Note: You may set the threshold to 2, but this will also depend on the nature of your business.<\/li>\n
  10. Select the Manual<\/strong> Review<\/strong> action.\"Total<\/li>\n
  11. Click on the Add Rule<\/strong> button to add another rule.<\/li>\n
  12. In the Rule<\/strong> dropdown box, select Credit Card Equal to Blacklisted Card<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  13. Select the Manual<\/strong> Review<\/strong> action.\"Blacklist<\/li>\n
  14. Click on the Save<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The above rules will help you to identify the fraudsters whose used the SAME email address <\/strong>or IP address<\/strong> to perform the carding attempt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
