Configure validation rules and fraud score

FraudLabs Pro automatically assigns you 5 default validation rules during sign-up to start your protection seamlessly.

  • Reject if the email address was found in the blacklisted record.
  • Reject if the visitor IP address was found in the blacklisted record.
  • Review if the visitor's IP is utilizing an anonymous proxy.
  • Review if the billing country does not match the shipping country.
  • Review if the assigned fraud score is greater than 70.

You can easily customize these rules to align with your specific business needs.

Review and add legitimate customers for whitelisting

Sometimes, legitimate customers may be mistakenly flagged (e.g., using a VPN). If their emails are not whitelisted, transactions could be marked as high-risk, resulting in Review or Reject status.

Maintain a whitelist of trusted customers so they bypass certain fraud checks and complete purchases smoothly without unnecessary interruptions.

How to Manage Whitelist:

  1. Go to Whitelist Management page.
  2. Add or import the email addresses of legitimate customers into the whitelist.

Test your configuration

It's recommended to try out the checkout process on your e-commerce platform and verify result returned by FraudLabs Pro service before the rollout.

Below are the test case to simulate the REVIEW and REJECTED return if you are using our default validation rules.

Case How to Trigger
REVIEW Select a different Billing Country and Shipping Country.
REJECTED Use testing@example.com as the client email address.
Or,
Use 4242 4242 4242 4242 as the credit card number for payment.

If you're unsure how to test your fraud validation rules and transactions, you can try them safely in Sandbox Mode. This feature is available for paid users only and can be enabled from the License page.
